Harvard Scientists Say Mysterious Object Could Be An Alien Craft
On October 19th, 2017 astronomers at the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System-1 (Pan-STARRS-1) on the Island of Maui announced the discovery of the first ever known interstellar asteroid. It was assigned a very clinical name of 'I/2017 U1'. However its also known as 'Oumuamua', which is Hawaiian for 'scout'.
Since its discovery, there has been much speculation as to the origins of Oumuamua. The prevailing theory is that it has come from the Lyra Constellation, perhaps from the Vega System.
Now, there are 2 astronomers from Harvard who are speculating that Oumuamua may in fact be an alien spacecraft purposefully sent to our region as an intelligence gathering probe! Astronomers Shmuel Baily and Abraham Loeb cite the fact that this asteroid sped up as it exited our solar system, instead of slowing down as would be expected. They believe this craft may be powered by the force exerted on its surface by sunlight.
Loeb calculated that if Oumuamua is indeed, just a naturally occurring asteroid, that there would have to be more than 100 million similar masses in the vicinity of our solar system. Oumuamua is also shaped in a very peculiar way - a shape very similar to 2 crafts built by humans - Starshot Initiative and IKAROS Probe, both of which were created to act as "solar sails" and be propelled by the power of the sun.
Some very interesting theories indeed. Surely we haven't heard the last regarding this mystery object.
